What actually keeps a bed cool
- Airflow through the core. Coil layers let warm air escape. Solid foam does not.
- An open top layer. Purple's grid, or perforated latex, moves air at the surface.
- Cover fabric. Cool-to-the-touch fabrics feel cool when you lie down; the effect fades as they warm. Useful, but limited.
